Kylie Minogue Paper Toys

Brazilian Bruno Vilardi is a self-professed Kylie Minogue addict. Bruno is so enamored with the Australian pop singer/actress that he has devoted an entire paper toy web site to nothing but dolls of Kylie. Each doll is dressed in a different costume from one of Minogue's numerous music videos and movies. Several dozen dolls have been created so far. My fave is the Kylie doll in the Green (Absinthe) Fairy costume she wore in a cameo appearance in the movie Moulin Rouge. Check out Bruno's web site here. Just click on the picture of the doll to get the template.

Some of them were rites of passage, punishment, protection, and marks of fertility. It was also employed to mark outlaws such as slaves. Scorpio Tattoo Design

Scorpio Tattoo DesignScorpion tattoos can be dark and forbidding, but they can also be a lot more attractive than you might think. These tiny, deadly desert creatures – in appearance, a cross between a spider and a tiny lobster – have gracefully curved bodies that lend themselves well to tattoo designs.

A scorpion tattoo can look exotic and intriguing on a man or a woman – all in all, a great image for someone who wants a tattoo with a little bit of ‘edge’, or one that is a little beyond the ordinary.

Scorpion tattoos can be large or small, and they can have as much or as little detail as you’d like. In any case, it will be immediately recognizable – because even those of us who have never seen an actual scorpion seem to have an innate recognition of the symbol and all that it represents.

Eisbrecher Toy Theater Papercraft

Eisbrecher is a German industrial metal band. Eisbrecher also happens to be the favorite musical group of Eka from Finland, the creator of this papercraft theater (or should I call it a "papercraft stage"?) Eka drew the band members by hand, then translated them into an electronic format that could be turned into papercraft. Not bad for a first attempt at papercraft design. A download of the template is available here.

Tribal Tattoos Make a Good Choice of Body Art

Tribal Tattoos Make a Good Choice of Body Art
Tribal Chest Tattoo
Black color has its own relevance in the tribal chest tattoo designs. It's the black ink that doesn't let the tribal chest tattoo die (fade) easily. It's due to its inimitable designs that these tattoos are still in demand. The most common found tribal chest tattoos exhibit Maori designs, Eskimo totems and Aztec sun clocks and the range is unending. Besides these, tribal chest tattoo designs are created with heavy lines and different hues. Tribal chest tattoos, which are well liked for their designs, are originated from Maori, Haida, Polynesian and Native American designs. What differentiates Tribal chest tattoos from other ones is its history of body decoration. Tribal Chest tattoos symbolize relationship shared between people in a group, family, social, etc. One can go for attractive, dazzling yet exceptional tribal chest tattoos in any season on any part of the body. He or she would bring himself on the brink of risk if by chance a tattoo is wrongly done or placed on his or her body.

Style tattoo on his back

This tattoo is a good thematic blend of the two previous - here, the shoulder area appears cut away to reveal underlying mechanical works.

From a visual standpoint, steampunk-inspired tattoos seem almost obvious. When skin is the canvas, it isn’t a stretch to envision what lies beneath. Imagining something greater than reality is, artistically, the next logical step. Steampunk tattoos have such great potential that it is only the genre’s relative obscurity that makes them as uncommon as they are.

Horitomo
Senior Apprentice of Horiyoshi III
New Blood
by Horitaka

For almost ten years, Kazuaki Kitamura was well known in the international tattoo community as "Washo." As Washo, he was at the forefront of a new breed of Japanese tattooer, challenging traditions and bringing the Western style to Japan. Now, Washo carries the name Horitomo and for the past several years has been an apprentice of Horiyoshi III. He made this move in order to further develop his art by studying the traditions of the past.

While his first recollections of tattoos, traditional style body suits seen on neighborhood people, go back to elementary school, it was the Western style that first led him into the world of tattooing. His interest in surfing exposed him to other surfers with "one-point" tattoos. He ended up getting tattooed by Sabado in the fall of 1992 after being introduced by a friend. From that point on, their relation quickly grew and he became Sabado's first apprentice. Eccentric Tattoo had just opened up in Nagoya, very close to his hometown. Kazuaki ended up staying at Eccentric for three and a half years, where he gained his foundation and entry into the tattoo world. Sabado also gave him the name Washo, a title he would use for almost ten years. Needless to say, Kazuaki was very fortunate to be taught by Sabado, a world renowned legend in modern Japanese tattooing.

Struck by wanderlust, Kazuaki traveled for the next year and a half. Convention work had introduced him to many foreign artists and he ended up working at Everlasting in San Francisco for three months. This was right before Aaron Cain left and he was able to work with him as well as Mike Davis, Patrick Conlon and Troy Denning. Following this he helped establish Scratch Addiction in Tokyo and then Three Tides Tattoo in Osaka. Both of these shops became channels for the many Western tattooers wanting to visit and work in Japan.

Red Brick English Church Paper Model

Here's another great architecture papercraft from Pepachal. The text with this paper building describes it as being a "creepy" church in rural Yorkshire, England, but I am guessing that the building is fictional. The deeply recessed windows and the use of photorealistic textures on this paper model give it a nice solid feel. The template with instructions in PDF format are available here, just click on the blue links. Previously, Pepachal had created an Irish stone chapel which may be found here.

The designs mentioned earlier as only some of the most poplar. There are still many other designs in the market that you can choose from like angels, heart, fairy, dolphin, nautical star, tiger, koi fish, and many others.

Tribal Back Tattoos - something for everyone

Choosing to get a tattoo is one of the most important - and highly personal - decisions you will make. You will have to choose a design, a position, a color, a studio, an artist, and maybe even make more decisions than that. If you're feeling overwhelmed, don't worry, because there's one design that's sure to give you some great ideas: tribal back tattoos.

If you're a man, you know that tribal tattoos are very popular. You probably have friends who have tattooed armbands that are made up of intricate line patterns or other symbols. Even if no one you know personally has a tattoo, you've definitely seen them on television and in movies. But have you ever thought about getting a tribal tattoo on your back?

Don't think that back tattoos are just for the ladies. Many men choose to get tattoos on their back, for a variety of reasons. One of these is that your back is a large space that is relatively consistent in terms of skin. This makes it a particularly convenient place to get a tattoo, because your artist has more space to work with and a more uniform canvas. Choosing a back tattoo means you'll end up saving money.

Tribal tattoos look great on the back because they are versatile designs. For example, a tribal tatoo could be a large sun with flames - a design that would look great in the center of your back. A Celtic knot would also look good here. If you want to get a tattoo across the shoulders, you could choose a design that is more linear. Obviously, you have lots of choices.

But tribal tattoos aren't just for the boys! Lots of women are starting to choose tribal designs when they get tattoos. The versatility of this particular design is one reason for its increasing popularity. If you have a particular ethnic heritage you're proud of, you can undoubtedly find a symbol that will look great as a tattoo.

Back tattoos are especially popular with women because they are extremely sexy. Many men are already attracted to the back, and a tribal tattoo can be a great way of drawing attention to your sexy curves and alluring figure. Back tattoos are also good because you can hide them if you need to - just make sure to wear a shirt that covers it completely.

Another consideration to keep in mind when you're looking for tribal tattoo designs is cost. Both the size and position of your tattoo determine how expensive it will be. If you get a tattoo on your back, you'll probably pay less than for other places, because it is a relatively easy place for artists to access. Also, if you choose color instead of monochrome, expect to pay a little more.

Tribal back tattoos are a great tattoo design choice because they're so versatile. No matter if you're a man or a woman, if you want color or monochrome, or if you want a big or small tattoo, tribal designs are sure to give you exactly what you want.

Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus Paper Theater

Late last year I was approached by a theater in the Netherlands to produce a paper theater for their gift shop. But alas, the project never became a reality and I was left with an unfulfilled desire to design a paper theater. I finally got inspired enough to follow through on my desire a couple months ago after watching the movie The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus. The movie is directed by former Monty Python member Terry Gilliam and features the final on-screen performance of actor Heath Ledger. The plot of the movie involves a troupe of traveling actors whose portable stage looks much like a life size paper theater. At the end of the movie Doctor Parnassus, the leader of the troupe, is shown on the street selling toy theaters which resemble his own theater. This papercraft is my attempt at recreating the toy theater seen at the end of the movie. Information for the template is as follows:

Scale: 1:2 (estimated)
Finished size: 7" W(17.8 cm) x 7" H (17.8 cm) x 4" D (10.2 cm)
Number of pages: 7
Number of parts: 23
Difficulty: 3/5
Download

The photo shown above doesn't do justice to the 3D effect of the theater which is similar to 3D decoupage. I hope you enjoy the theater. It was a lot of fun to design and build. Oh, I forgot to mention the model comes with a "curtain" and there are slots in the top so that it may be used as a functional toy theater and not just as a prop for a book shelf.

Sleeve Tattoos Designs

Sleeve tattoos have become immensely popular among both male and female tattoo enthusiasts. The term 'sleeve tattoo' refers to a tattoo design that runs a significant length down the arm. The majority of sleeve tattoos cover either half of the arm or the whole arm. Half sleeve designs generally cover the skin between the elbow and upper arm, or between the elbow and wrist. Ultimately though, the area that a sleeve design covers is completely up to the individual.

In addition to being incredibly flexible in terms of size and positioning on the arm, sleeve tattoos can also be extended to other body areas. For example, some people ink incredibly striking designs that extend right up to the top of the shoulder, and then down the shoulder blade and back, or down the chest. While some people plan such large designs in advance, many people start with a smaller design, such as a half sleeve tattoos, and then keep adding to the original design over time.

Sleeve Tattoos Designs Tribal and Celtic design styles tend to be the most popular options for sleeve tattoos. Both of these design styles tend to be composed of bold patterns and iconography, usually inked in black. Such designs tend to be fairly easy to extend, which explains why many people end up with such elaborate Tribal and Celtic tattoos, often incorporating a full sleeve design into a larger design.

Sleeve tattoos are a great choice for people who work for an employer with a no tattoo policy due to the ease with which they can be hidden. Wearing a long sleeve sweater or shirt will completely cover a design inked on the arm. Away from work, sleeve designs can be shown off to the world by wearing short sleeve t-shirts, vests, or by not wearing a shirt at all. For people like to show off their ink at the gym, or during the summer months, sleeve tattoos provide an excellent option.

Sleeve Tattoos Designs In summary, sleeve tattoos are incredibly striking and provide tattoo enthusiasts with enormous flexibility in terms of size, positioning and the possibility of future extension. If you are strongly considering getting a tattoo, I recommend taking your time choosing a design that you really love, and that really has some significance to you and your life. Take the time to browse through as much high quality tattoo art as possible in order to build up a selection of designs that you really love. It is upsetting to think that so many people end up regretting their tattoos because they did not take the time to plan properly.
